Keiser Report – Moving Aluminum bars around Detroit

    Kevin,

I recall reading that Hitler Youth would sometimes construct huge mounds of earth and rock, only to tear them down and build them up again somewhere else.

At least, this "heavy construction" could be justified as a stopgap measure, until German industry could be got up and running again.

But I see NO redeeming social value in what's discussed in this issue of the Keiser Report; namely, moving Aluminum bars around Detroit, to increase cost and delivery times.

Under well settled First Amendment practice, the activity is legally "obscene," and could be enjoined on that basis alone.

Having been deprived of local self-government by the State of Michigan, the citizens of Detroit should immediately DISSOLVE the municipal corporation, known as the City of Detroit, using the only power still left to them.

Thereafter, quoting Jefferson and Congress, the people of Detroit should "institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its owers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."

Such "new government" might take the form of one or more municipal corporations, combined with different county, metropolitan, and even regional, arrangements.

  2. Kevin, thanks for an incisive essay. We have an discussion group entitled Free Thinkers where we try to learn from each other to better understand global trends.

One of our participants, based in Australia, considers your views to be defeatist and "leftist". His views are reproduced below.

In the meantime, I'm off to visit the Urban Dictionary to try and understand what is a Leftist.

There is no shortage of commentators queueing up to dance on America's grave. Barret appears to be yet another.

His polemic is anything but incisive. It is a dreamy repetition of the leftist memes designed to sap the will and optimism of decent people everywhere. He is one of the useful sheep who mindlessly carry on the work of Fabians everywhere. Short on relevant fact and full of that confected 'more in sorrow than in anger' tripe that is the hallmark of idiot leftist writers the world over.

Ah, we are all mindless putty in the evil hands of the international bankers and image makers. Crap. Anybody ever heard of of taking responsibility for our own actions and stop blaming others when we borrow too much money?
